Perhaps
How many times do you wish you were free?
When things start to pile up, what a mess it can be
You're scared and you're tired and you really can't see
How things will get better and you will be free
The days seem to linger, the nights are so long
You're feeling so weak and you want to be strong
The peace that you seek, that you never could find
Is waiting inside you and yet you are blind
Perhaps you should open your heart not your eyes
Perhaps if you did you would see what's inside
Sometimes what we feel isn't really real
Its a moment in time and its gone once we heal
Harsh words can scald us, sting us and burn
And when its all over sometimes they return
The body can heal, the mind can conceal
But what's in your heart will effect how you feel
Gentle hearts are never weak
The strength inside is what you seek
The faith and hope and love we feel
The forgiveness we need is always there
