MISSION STATEMENT
LONG YANG CLUB - MINNESOTA
OUR VISION:
We aspire to promote Asian and Asian-American culture within the
context of the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender (GLBT) Community
in Minnesota.
OUR MISSION:
Our goals are:
- to promote pride in Asian and Asian-American cultures;
- to present a positive image of the GLBT Asians and Asian-Americans;
- and to develop respect and friendship among our members.
OUR OBJECTIVES:
- To heighten awareness of Asian and Asian-American issues.
- To increase visibility of and respect for GLBT Asians within the
Minnesota Asian Community, and the greater GLBT Community.
- To provide a supportive welcoming environment for social and
educational events.
- To promote an atmosphere of mutual respect, in which we can
genuinely get to know people of cultures different from our own.
- To share our knowledge, skills, talents and resources in mutual
support of each other.
- To acknowledge the presence of AIDS in society and to encourage
our members to act responsibly.
- To encourage our members to participate in other non-profit or
political organizations.
- To provide travel information about affiliated organizations and
welcome traveling members.
- To take the initiative of working together to achieve the mission
of the organization.
