LYC Minnesota

Long Yang Club Minnesota is a branch of the international Long Yang Club for Gay Asians and friends. Our club is dedicated to promoting pride in Asian and Asian-American cultures, presenting a positive image of Gay Asians and Asian-Americans, and developing respect and friendship among our members. (We have a mission statement to sum it all up.) We have an event once a month, usually on the last Friday of the month (check out our list of events for details.) If you live in Minnesota and sound like you should be one of us, you should definitely join in. We're fun, friendly folks!

You may already know about Long Yang Club, but do you know about Minnesota? Most people in Minnesota live in Minneapolis and Saint Paul, the "Twin Cities", which are right next to each other on the Mississippi River. The Twin Cities aren't very close to anything else: we're a long day's drive to the northwest of Chicago (or a long day's drive southeast of Winnipeg in Canada, depending on how you look at it). In spite of being right smack in the center of North America, we have great air connections with both Europe and Japan. Our events happen in the Cities, and most of us live there, but some people drive in from as far away as Saint Cloud or Fargo to join the fun. Long Yang members from anywhere else in the world are always welcome!

Minneapolis, Saint Paul and the state of Minnesota have lots more to offer than just the Long Yang Club. The Cities have arts, music, theater, nightclubs, and great restaurants, while northern Minnesota offers wild forests and lakes with all sorts of outdoor activities. Summers are gorgeous, and winters aren't as bad as people will tell you. (If the weather turns icky, there's always the Mall of America.)
