Like I was saying... Maggie is getting older and needs more help getting around the house. She never stops trying. I have had her since I was two and she has always been there for me. I don't think I will ever be able to find another dog like her. I got Lightning recently but NOTHING can compare to Maggie. I am praying that she will pass away peacefully in her sleep with no pain cause I don't want to have to take her to the vet to put her down. I would have to live the rest of my life wondering if she was ready. Maybe she really isn't in any pain. Then again, maybe she is in a ton of pain. I have no idea of knowing cause Maggie doesn't tell anyone what she is feeling. Of course she is a dog but they have their own ways of telling stuff like that. Maggie doesn't want anyone to feel bad for her. If she can't do something she just stays there. She will let people help her but show won't cry or anything. If she gets left outside, she will just stand there an wait for us to let her in. She won't even bark. More updates will be coming to inform you on Maggie's health.
Maggie is a 13 year old Mutt. Meaning that she is a mix of many
different kinds of dogs. She is part dobermen, part black lab, and beagle mix.
We got her when I was two. She now has arthritus in all four legs, I think,
and has to be on special medicine. However we started her on a raw diet and that
seems to be helping. She is also becoming deaf and she is losing her sense of
smell. To get her attention you have to scream really loud. Sometime she can
here you even when you are talking pretty quietly. She hasn't lost her ability
to be able to tell when we are going on vacation.
Whenever she sees suitcases and pillows lying around she starts wining so
that we don't forget her. She still loves to go for long walks even though she
can't keep up with us after two
blocks. |
