Chapter 9: The Not Date

*Ding dong* The doorbell chimes as Kiaya rushes to the door.

"Hi Jonathan! Hi girls! TYYYYYYYYLER!!!!!!" Kiaya yells

"I'm coming." Tyler drags himself downstairs and stops short when he sees Crystal

"Hey man, this is Sharon and this is her friend Crystal."

"Hi." Sharon says

"Hey Tyler." Crystal says shyly

"Hi." Tyler stutters *thinking man she's pretty and doesn't seem obsessed either*

"Awwwwww how cute!" Kiaya pipes up

"Kiaya, come here. Guys have fun and be back by 11." Steve grins

The quartet pulls into the diner after a nite of bowling. It's a little past ten but they figure they have time for a quick soda before having to go back home. Besides, nobody is ready for the nite to end.

"I can't believe you guys are still talking to me after the game I had." Sharon says with a laugh

"Don't worry about it. Jonathan gets gutters all the time." Tyler says with a smirk

"I do not." Jonathan starts to defend himself as Tyler just stares at him

"Ok ok maybe I do sometimes but so do you." Jonathan admits

"We all do, right Crystal?" Sharon replies

"Right. I had fun though." Crystal replies with a smile directed at Tyler

"Me too." the others agree

"I'm hungry. Let's go get some pizza Sharon. We'll bring it back here." Jonathan says with a knowing glance at his pal

"So..." Crystal pipes up

"So..." Tyler replies staring at the table

"You're a pretty good bowler." Crystal replies

"No I'm not, I hardly ever get to play. You're good though." Tyler replies blushing

"Thanks." Crystal answers blushing

The two talk for a few more minutes about what it's like on the road and Tyler relaxes a little. Jonathan and Sharon come back with pizza and soda and the gang chows down. A little bit later it's time for the nite to end and the guys drop the girls off at Sharon's and wave goodbye.

"Sharon and I hit it off pretty well." Jonathan said with a smile

"I noticed. Congrats man." Tyler smiled back

"So...how'd you like Crystal?" Jonathan asks

"She's ok." Tyler replies

"Ok? Come on man, I saw you staring at her. You've got a crush." Jonathan replies with a smirk

"Ok so maybe I do. But I'm sure she doesn't like me." Tyler says

"Oh I don't know about that. Sharon seemed to think she did." Jonathan stated

"Really?" Tyler asked incredulous

"Really." Jonathan replies as they pull into The Wilkinson's driveway "I'll call you tomorrow. Thanks for coming with me, I had a blast."

"Nite." Tyler said as he got out of the car

"Goodnite." Jonathan replied and drove off

Tyler walks in the house in a daze and is soon fast asleep.
