Congratulations to all who participated!!!! KCAR would like to take this opportunity to thank all those involved in making our first competition as well as sport launch a success on May 13th, 2000. Twelve people participated in the day's activities (5 as competitors). We had a total of 51 flights of 22 competition and 29 sport launches! Engine selection was well represented from MicroMaxx to G80 motors. Thanks to all those who attended! They include Bob Wingate, Dan Kirk, George Scheil, John and Barry Skelton, Erin Wingate, Ralph Simons, Kayla Larson, Mark Nuetzmann, Felicia Garrett, Jerome Tonneson, James Case, David Rimmer, Taylor Jesse, Jordan Hensley, Larry Mills, Nick Stitch, and several spectators. Some of the more memorable flights were Larry Mills with his AMRAAM flown on G64 and G-80 motors. The bad luck of James Case Astrobee on an F40 (no deployment ouch!). The burn through CATO of a G80-7 on an Eliminator and Jerome Tonneson's beautiful flight of his ISQY Aerotech Tomahawk on an E30-7W. Indeed, due to the wind conditions the middle-powered rockets were recovered while the A's sailed away.
Total impulse of 918.45 Newton-seconds, like a partial J motor. Thanks again to our hosts, James and Tricia, for letting us use their field, and thanks for the donuts! |
