This is where I explain some of the terms used throughout this site.
Cardware:
When you have to pay for a program after you've decided you'll keep
using it, it's called shareware. Programs that are completely free are
called freeware. Cardware goes somewhere in between. If you want to
keep using cardware programs, you'll need to send a postcard to the
creator of the program. Usually the card should be something that
represents your living area, but any card will suffice.
The whole point behind the cardware system is that the author doesn't
want to charge any money from the program, but he would still like to
know if anyone finds the program useful. After all, if it seems that
nobody is using the software, why should anyone bother updating it.
