Michael is not here to edit his page, so I thought I would help him out. He is currently serving in Operation Enduring Freedom on a 60 day tour, which with travel time will be about 75 days! This is a far cry from fun, but we have so many friends whose husbands are gone much longer. He is living in a tent city, but says the conditions are good. Unlike those who deployed before him, he is able to eat real (not powdered) eggs, fruit and real meat. I'm not sure what kind of meat there was before! If you email us, I can get you his email address over there and you can write to him. I know he apprecitaes any outside contact.
It is great to finally have my wings! I was awarded them on 17 November. Susan and Joy pinned them on me while I held Marin. I was congratulated mostly by Navy admirals since all of my training has been with the Navy.
I took an easy test to convert my military ratings to FAA certifications. I am now a fully certified commercial pilot with multi-engine and instrument ratings and a King Air B200 type rating. I have about 470 hours of flight time.
Susan and I are very excited about our new assignment to Moody Air Force Base in Valdosta, Georgia. I will be a co-pilot for the 71st Combat Rescue Squadron. This was not my first choice, but it was a close second. Not only will it be fun, it will be a doorway to many opportunities in the future. I am most excited about the possibilities of becoming an instructor pilot on the new Air Force trainer.

Beechcraft's (Raytheon's) King Air B200 is the aircraft I am currently rated to fly. It is used for regional executive transport and light cargo.
