While in the Tokyo National College of Technology Satoshi Tajiri establishes an information and attack
method magazine for arcade games called the "Game Freak". The magazine gained zealous readers all over
Japan. |
1984 |
Starts a career of writing about games, by introducing and criticizing games on TV, on radio programs,
in regular, computer and the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) specialized magazines. |
1987 |
Starts development of his own software with the release of "Quinty", the NES software. |
1989 |
In April, incorporated "Game Freak, Inc.". He became Chief Executive Officer of this company. |
1990 |
Writes up a youth-oriented novel called "Catch the Packland" for the game generation
(published by JICC). |
1991 |
Becomes a guest speaker at the Vantan Design Institute Department in a lecture
entitled "Introduction to Games". The Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES)
software "Jerry Boy" receives the Character Design Award in the Multimedia Grand
Prix Video Game Section. |
1992 |
Becomes appointed as a judge at the Multimedia Grand Prix. |
1995 |
Publishes a book for TV games inspiration called "New games Designing" (published by Enix). |
1996 |
Guest lecturer at the Human Creative School. |
1997 |
Receives the Japan Software Grand Prize, the CESA Award and the New Concept
Award for his Game Boy Software "Pocket Monsters". |
