Chapter Six

(Justin's point of view)

When I got home, JC was waiting for me in my room.

“Hey, I need to talk to you about Mandy.” I took off my shirt and pants and dried my chest off with a towel.

“If it’s about us being a couple, it’s already taken care of.” I said, grabbing a pair of black running pants and a white tank top.

“Are you a couple now?” JC asked. A couple? The words sounded so weird. Mandy and I were a couple.

“Yeah we’re going to try it and see what happens.” I said sitting down on my bed.

“That’s great J. Just don’t think about the past.” I looked at the picture of Stacey on my night stand. I walked over, picked up the picture, and carefully put the picture in the drawer. Goodbye Stacey, I thought. It’s time for a new beginning.

****9 months Later****

“Dinner’s ready you guys. Outside by the pool.” Sun Yi, our maid said. I pulled a blue flannel shirt over my bare chest and walked out back. Mandy was laying in a floating lounge chair, talking to Lance.

“Hey gorgeous.” I said, dipping my feet into the pool. She slid off the lounge chair and swam toward me. I took in her blue bikini which brought out her eyes.

“Hey. Is dinner ready?” Mandy asked, hoisting herself out of the pool. I watched her shake her head back and forth, splattering me with tiny drops of water.

“Yeah, Sun Yi made Chinese stir fry, mashed potatoes, fried rice and her own little concoction for dessert. Jusu something or other.” I said, emphasizing dessert because it was her favorite. Jusu pancakes or whatever she was making are cookies covered in hot chocolate, and whipped cream. We ate out by the pool and after words, my band mates were already yawning.

“Well lovebirds, I don’t know about you guys but we are tired so we are going to bed.” JC said and the other three guys followed him.

“Finally.” Mandy said, sitting next to me.

“Getting sick of my band mates are we?” I said, laughing.

“No I just wanted to be alone. Can you believe it’s almost our one year anniversary?” Mandy asked, laying her head down on my chest. I got up, got down on one knee, and took out a box.

“Mandy, will you make me the happiest man in the world and be my wife?” Tears filled Mandy’s eyes and she nodded.

“Yes Justin. I’ll be your wife.”
