Mrs. Barden is a Peace College graduate and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Education from Bellarmine College in Louisville, Kentucky. She is a member of The American College of Musicians, National Piano Guild, and The North Carolina Federation of Music Clubs. She is past President of The Raleigh Music Club and the current President of the Clayton Music Club. In addition to teaching piano, voice and organ, Mrs. Barden is an active church musician/organist. Students have received benefits from the North Carolina Federation of Music Clubs, the National Federation of Music Clubs, and the National Guild of Piano Teachers in piano and composition. In 2002 a student at the Academy of Music won first place in the nation for his composition. Students have had many opportunities to win scholarships at the local and national levels. The Academy has received a national honor from The North Carolina Federation of Music Clubs. The Barden Academy of Music is an award winning studio. Students have received many honors and monetary awards including college scholarships. Students have also published their compositions with major music publishers such as the Alfred Publishing Company. The Academy works very hard to make sure that every student has every opportunity to succeed in their interest.
