John and Alice Burwell were among the early settlers of Milford, CT.
Upon one of the stones of 'Memorial Bridge' at Milford, is carved the name
of the father of Mary.
Joshua and Mary had the following children: (I)--Samuel Lobdell - (born Feb. 2, 1699 in Milford) - m. Rebecca St. John, daughter of Samuel St. John and Rebecca Olmstead (II)-Sarah Lobdell - (born Feb. 1, 1702 in Milford) (III)--**Joshua Lobdell II - (March 16, 1703-1767) - m. Mary Reynolds (IV)-Mary Lobdell - (born Oct. 30, 1704 in Milford) - m. Samuel Plum, son of John Plum, Jr. and Rachel Bunnel. Samuel died March 1790 in Derby, CT. (V)-Ebenezer
Lobdell - (born Feb. 24, 1707 in Milford - died 1801 in Ridgefield,
CT) m. Dec. 28, 1732 Rebecca Benedict (died Aug. 1, 1798 in
Ridgefield), daughter of Thomas Benedict and Elizabeth Barnum
According to history, Ebenezer was one of the principal inhabitants of
Ridgefield in 1784. In 1743 he bought property from the heirs of
his father the property that was formerly Simon Lobdell's. According
to Fairfield Co. Court Records, in 1751 Ridgefield court granted him a
license to keep public house and sell strong drinks.

Lobdell - (born Feb. 27, 1709 in Milford) m. Seaborn Burt (born
July 4, 1706 at sea, between Quebec and Boston), son of Benjamin Burt
and
Sarah Belding
An interesting note concerning Seaborn Burt's birth in Julia Harrison Lobdell's
book... "Benjamin Burt, (David's youngest son), with his wife, was captured
by the Indians at the burning of Deerfield, Mass., and taken to Canada.
Ensign John Sheldon of Deerfield, made four expeditions to Canada, to redeem
his fellow-townsmen and finally on 30 May, 1706, left Quebec with over
forty of them, among whom was Mr. Burt, his wife and child. They
went down the St. Lawrence and thence by sea to Boston, where they arrived
on Aug. 2." On the voyage Mrs. Burt gave birth to a son, who was
named 'Seaborn' from the place of his birth.
~~After the death of Mary, Joshua, with his children, moved to Ridgefield, CT in 1712. On March 3, 1712 Joshua bought one twenty-ninth part of the town of Ridgefield from Mr. James Brown of Norwalk, CT. During the next 20 to 30 years, Joshua continually added purchased property to his estate.~~

Eunice
was the aunt of Rebecca St. John, who married Samuel Lobdell, the oldest
child of Joshua and Mary Burwell Lobdell.

March 6, 1734 Jabez Northrup, son of Daniel Northrup and Sarah (II)-Caleb Lobdell - (Feb. 1, 1716-Jan. 17, 1802) - born and died in Ridgefield, CT. Married three times: (1) m. Ruth (died after 1802) (2) June 27, 1749 m. Elizabeth (died Nov. 1752) (3) July 19, 1758 m. Bethia Paddock (Jan 22, 1729/30 - died after 1761), daughter of Zachariah F. Paddock and Elizabeth Howes (III)-John Lobdell - (born Aug. 21, 1721, Ridgefield, CT - died 1778, Brookfield, CT) m. June 25, 1744 Ruth Sherwood (March 29, 1723, Ridgefield, CT - May 4, 1787), daughter of Daniel Sherwood and Ruth Bradley (IV)-Darius Lobdell - (born Oct. 18, 1729, Ridgefield, CT - died Nov. 29, 1796) m.
