Josiah was a carpenter. According to Lobdell family records, he resided in Bluff City, Route 3, Sullivan County, Tennessee. His death record shows he was a widow and lived the last six years of his life with his son, Lysle, and his family in St. Andrews, Bay County, Florida.

Nancy was a school teacher. She taught in a one-room school house on Lookout Mountain, Chatanooga, TN or GA. She and her family moved to Panama City, Florida about 1922 and she taught chemistry, science and history from 1922 until 1925 at Panama City High School, now known as Bay County High School, Panama City, FL. She received her AB Degree from Adelphi College, New York. She wrote and published poetry. Her poetry was bound in a velvet book and burned in a house fire in Tennessee. She became ill about 1925 and her remaining family doesn't know where she died, as they've been unable to find her in the death records of Florida or Tennessee. Her death date is recorded in a Rhea family Bible, owned by Jeraldine Cullen Rhea, her daughter-in-law. Her father's family was from New York. . Josiah and Nancy had two children: --**Lysle Edward Rhea - (May 1, 1906-June 21, 1971) m. Ora Jeraldine Cullen, daughter of Brainard Fuller Cullen and Ora Bertha Houseman --Gwendolyn Preston Rhea - (May 1, 1907-Aug. 23, 1947) m.
