BILLINGTON HOUSE

House Billington is one of the houses that form the industrial houses complex in Namilyango college. It is named after a Mill Hill missionary; Bishop Vincent Billington who was Bishop of the then Kampala diocese between 1948 and 1966.Bishop Billington was the last of the Mill Hill Bishops in this region of Uganda.

House Billington, is located alongside the main road leading into the school premises, and is a neighbor to House Kiwanuka and house Kuipers, with which it shares most of its facilities.

House Billington accommodates about 48 students from S.1 who are its residential members. It has an almost

Equal number of official house members residing in other houses. The house members are a hard working lot, who has greatly contributed to the achievements that the house has registered; especially in as far as house cleanliness is concerned.

In terms of sports, House Billington has performed aversely well producing good teams for the inter-house athletics and football competitions, in the junior, intermediate and senior categories. In their lightgreen colored T-shirts, the official colors of the house, House Billington members are a very active lot. However, much as the house has not made any significant wins in the sports arena, it is nonetheless, an active participant in the school's sports activities.

In the field of academics, House Billington members are strongly aware of the fact that the academic obligation is their first and foremost duty in the school. For this reason, they are very active in the academics. They spice up their academic life in the school extra curricular activities, especially club activities.

House Billington is administratively run by a team of dedicated house captains and prefects, who work hand in hand with the new Housemaster, Mr. Kiboine Peter to guide and lead the house members, to achieve the goals of the house and the personal aspirations of the house members.

Today, the members of House Billington reflect on their relationship with their house, and are proud of the achievements they have collectively registered for the house over the years. They have renewed energy and vigor to achieve more, as the school celebrates 98 years of founding.
