The following tasks were allocated to us in question form and they were done through research work TASK ONE TASK 1: MY SCHOOL. Our school is,Namilyango College. Its located in Namilyango village Seeta in Mukono district 22 kilometres from Kampala. Namilyango college is located on the top most of a hill surrounded by the great man made forest Namanve .The road that brings you into the college is covered by a canopy which may make you feel like you are entering into a thick jungle,but it is only at the entrance.It comprises of students who enjoy rugby, visiting other schools, surfing, movies and many more .The people participating in the project include; 1Asiimwe Collins 2.Njuba Simon Peter 3.Zulu Richard 4.Ojirot Patrick 5Galabuzi Andrew 6.Nkemba James 7.Sekayombya Brian 8.Walungama Andrew 9.Openy-Oweta Joseph. 10. Tumwebaze Collins Do you discuss about HIV/AIDS with your schoolmates? If yes when and what do you discuss. If no why not. Yes,during our free time in the dormitories, during club meetings like youngster alert club , youth alive and when we go to other schools like Namagunga recently.We discuss the causes, effects, preventive measures and how it is spread. Do you talk about HIV/AIDS with your teachers? If yes what do you discuss. If no why not. Yes, during our lessons in divinity , internal workshops ,at the assembly,during club and class meetings. Has your school undertaken any HIV/AIDS activities/initiatives? If Yes explain what the school has done / is doing.Yes, the school has setup clubs which sensitize students about HIV/AIDS ,movies are shown to the students about people who have been infected and affected by AIDS .Facilitators from various centres like Naguru teenage center are invited and they talk to the students about HIV/AIDS.
Are you bothered by HIV/AIDS as students in your school? (Why or why not?) Yes, our fellow students are losing relatives and end up orphaned because of AIDS.
Is HIV/AIDS a problem in your school? How? Yes, students lose relatives and are affected in their studies .How is HIV/AIDS message delivered to you in school? Through the media , teachers , seminars ,club meetings, ICT(information communication technology).
Do you like the methods? If yes why? If no why. Yes,because they are available most of the timeHow would you want the HIV/AIDS message to be delivered to you?Through more seminars with different schools and more computers.by inviting parents for "child parent talks"By watching more testimony films.by bringing more infected and affected people to testify about the disease Do you use computers in your school? YES. How can you use computers to address HIV/AIDS in society? Through projects like this one(peer link)by creating more websites ,getting more information from the net and availing it to otherindividuals to know or consumeThey encourage us to be creative in such away that we save our ideas as we think about them. we also use them for lesuire to avoid temptations.
