"Nick. I don't think we should see each other anymore..."
"What? No way Lori... you can't do this to me... I love you a lot Lori... I really do. Please don't leave me."
"Nick, you're the most talented cop in LA, and what am I, I'm the daughter of the biggest drug dealer in LA, this is not right and no matter what, this relationship is not gonna work out... I know you love me Nick, you've proved it to me in a lot of ways and I really thank you for that... but the thing is, this relationship is impossible to exist in this situation..."
"No... Lori! It doesn't matter."
"It does matter, Nick, I'm sorry." She kisses him on his lips, "and Goodbye." She walks away. Once she turns around, tears start bursting out from her eyes, but she never looks back.
~ LAPD headquarter -- 3 months later -- 8:30 am ~
For the past 3 months, Nick is not able to cheer himself up. He really truly understands how important Lori is to him. Not even Joyce gave him this feeling. For the past 3 months, no matter what he did, Lori just won't answer his phone calls nor seeing him. Furthermore, he sees Brian and Michelle got together, Kevin and Melissa having a very good relationship, these make him misses Lori more.
On the other hand, Mandy thinks it might be a good chance for her to approach Nick. While she's going up to him. Nick walks away. Mandy picks up the paper on the desk, the one Nick is writing on just now, and she reads it.
Been
checking out the places where we used to go
And looking for your face inside the crowd
I been talking to the people that we used to know
But nobody wants to say where you hang out
And
when I call your phone
Seems like you're never ever home
And you don't return my calls
It tears me apart - this breaking of my heart
And I can't take it baby
I
still have your pictures hung around my room
They're the only thing that's left of you and me
Girl what can I do to make you come back soon
And make it just the way it used to be
I
know there's a chance for you and I
And I believe there's no way our love can die
So no matter how long it takes I'll wait for you
And whatever it takes I'll be there for you
OH
BABY I'M MISSING YOU
WE USED TO LOVE SO STRONG TELL ME WHERE DID WE GO WRONG
OH BABY I'M MISSING YOU
THEY SAY I'LL LEARN TO FORGET BUT IT SURE AIN'T HAPPENED YET
Mandy squeezes the paper in her hand...
~ 9:00 am ~
Not soon after Nick comes back to the office. O'Keefe gets everybody to the meeting room.
"Okay guys, after these 3 months of work, we finally tracked down the evidence to arrest Peter Lee. Today, he will be in 12th Ave. for another trading, so be prepared guys!"
They arrive at 12th Ave. Just as all of them see Peter Lee walking out from the building, they also see Lori following her dad. She is holding onto a suitcase, which very possibly contains the drugs. Kevin steps out from the car and shouts, "Freeze! LAPD!"
Lori and Peter start to run. Nick and Lori are less than 10 feet away and Nick is sure that's Lori. He cannot believes his eyes. They are not able to take Peter Lee down, so many of his people are having a gun fight with the LAPD.
Since they came back to the headquarter, Nick has not been saying a word.
"So... I finally understand why it's so hard for us to take them down. Coz Lori is helping them!" Mandy says with a cold smile.
"Shut up Mandy!" Nick shouts out. He couldn't believe what he saw.
"Nick, why are you mad at me? You should be mad at Lori. And why you still care about her that much. She's nobody to you now!"
"Would you please stop!" Nick says as AJ walks in. He comes once he finds out what happened.
"Nick, you okay pal?"
"AJ... I can't, I can't believe that Lori is helping her dad." Tears start to run down Nick's face. AJ has never see Nick cries. He could tell Lori is very important to Nick. He don't know what to say, all he can do is sits there and be there for Nick.
Since then, every single night, Nick just sits in his room, staring at the ring that he never takes off, looking at the pictures of Lori. He is not talking to anybody about it, not even AJ. He couldn't even help it himself, although he tries to make himself works a lot and leaves himself no time to think about Lori, he just cannot forget about Lori, he misses her a lot.
