Below are some images of the Siberian Husky puppies born Oct. 14, 2002. They were bred by Baree Siberians in Missouri. Their sire is Polar Star's Bon Jovi, aka "Jay," and their dam is Baree's Absolutely En Vogue, "Abby." Both parents are Grays. Abby has blue eyes and Jay has brown.

Our puppy (Boy #2) is the one on top of the pile, facing the camera.
Boy #1 is to the far right, on his back.
And Girl is the one against Mama, facing the camera.
They were all cute and we had a hard time deciding, but as the weeks passed and the puppies matured, we all decided that Boy #2 was the best. And he was! The breeder wanted him to go to a show home, so we almost didn't get him!

Siberian Huskies come in many colors. Our favorites are Grays and Piebalds, which are spotted. Huskies can have brown eyes, blue eyes, or a combination thereof. Huskies are very friendly dogs, make wonderful companions, and are great with children. These are just some of the reasons we decided on a husky as our next dog.
Back in January '03, we finally decided on a name for our puppy... Baree's Snowy Knight, call name Blizzard. We really looked forward to when we could bring Blizzard home.
Friday, April 4th, was the day Blizzard finally arrived. We were excited and could hardly wait to meet him. I picked him up at Newark Liberty Int'l Airport in NJ, brought him home, where the boys were waiting, and we took him for his first romp out in the backyard. The kids and Blizzard had a great time. He settled in quite well.
Blizzard has brown eyes like his dad. His coat had really lightened up to where he looked almost like a creamy white. His ears and forehead were gray, his dorsal stripe had faded to a light tan with a few black guard hairs, and his white markings were barely visible. His coat was very thick and sooooo soft. He was one beautiful puppy.
Thanks to Jill Mclemore for allowing us the opportunity to give this Husky a home. We'll enjoy very much having him as part of our family!
Blizzard matured into a beautiful, silver-gray color. A lot of people tell us he looks like a wolf. He's a wonderful pet. We discovered he could be mischievous as a youngster, but we learned how to handle that. (He hated being left alone, so he would help himself to the garbage. He had done that on several occasions! Now he goes into his crate when we can't be home with him.) Huskies are very intelligent and independent, so they can be a challenge to own. But when you learn how to deal with that, they are great companions!
