6/10/01 Bad News SDRE fans...they have split up...again. According to the official Sunny Day Real Estate website, In the Blue:

"6/08/01 - Regretfully, it is my duty to inform you all that Sunny Day Real Estate has split and
gone their seperate ways. As a friend, I have promised not to quote any of the band members
themselves, but I can tell you some of the major factors, as well as what may come next. The
band was met with a string of bad luck, including troubles with management companies. Another
major blow came to the band when Arista dropped Time Bomb Recordings, making the European
tour and advertising for a new album near impossible. As frustrations built, progress on the new
album became stagnant at times. Not wanting to build personal tensions, the band decided to
split up indefinitely.

As for the future, Dan Hoerner has at least 2 albums worth of material meant for Sunny Day
which he intends to pick up on with a new band. Jeremy will most likely begin work on a second
solo album, while Will may already have a new band lined up.

In the coming days, look to this website to serve as official rumor control, especially in
the messageboards I predict.

Keep in mind that this is typical Sunny Day fashion, I wouldn't count them out forever
(wink wink nudge nudge), but for now, lets enjoy all the music they've given us and wish
them luck on their future endeavors."

So, updates will be scarce from now on I suppose. Oh well, good luck to the guys - they deserve it.

6/6/01 Here's a nice little story for you SDRE groupies. This was posted to the SDRE-L:

Monday, June 4

I was at Guitar Center in Kirkland today, and saw what I believe to be a William Goldsmith
sighting. He came in, looked around, and bought some drum stuff without actually asking the
price or seeming to care. I talked to the clerk shortly after he left, and he told me that his
name was indeed William Goldsmith, and that he also thought it was the SDRE drummer. I would
imagine there are not that many William Goldsmiths in Washington state, and few of which
have that kind of credit level. I just thought it was an interesting occurence. Keep up the
good work Will!

 -Kris Simonsen, Snohomish Washington

That's it for now. The only current information that has anything to do with SDRE is all of the auctions I have been hearing about on e-Bay...yippee!.

5/22/01 Joel at http://members.aol.com/veerchasm wrote to the list the other day with a translation to the French sound bite at the beginning of Tearing in my Heart. The french version is apparantly part of a poem which goes: "le vent ride la surface de l'eau." He says that the translation is roughly: "the wind wrinkles the surface of water."

It's always nice to hear some new information. And as far as the rumor about SDRE playing shows under a pseudo-name...come on people.

5/14/01 apparantly the new album by the band Juno features Nate Mendel on some of the songs. John D West posted this to the mailing list and he said that the band's bassist left the band so they had a couple people fill in for the album. The websites are www.insound.com , and if for some reason that didn't work, go to juno's homepage .

The FTP site has been down, but it is being working on currently. As far as other updates about the band, I am sorry to say that I have none.

4/19/01 I actually received a trade file for someoe new. Yeah!! That is all the news on the page and the band though. Please feel free to let us know any new info, or email us with trades and critiques. Thanks

2/14/01 I am trying to slowly update this page. There isn't anything big to report, so just keep your eye out for some new stuff here and there.

10/28/00 I just wanted to say that SDRE did NOT play return of the frog queen in Cincinnati. It was a mistake - it was pheurton skeurto like all the other shows...pheww!

10/26/00 I posted a new trade on the trade post page, so read it if you are interested.

There realy isn't much news, but I just wanted to say that I am so pissed that I missed the Rhode Island show with CURSIVE and SDRE!!! That must have been the best show ever. Also, I think it is cool as well as odd that they played Return of the Frog Queen in Cinncinatti. Is that true? Someone let me know, and I would love a copy of the Providence show...if anyone recorded it...we should trade!

Pictures from the NJ show are on the way...I swear!

10/17/00 Sunny Day Real Estate is having a live Yahoo! Chat on amuZnet.com this Thursday, the 19th, at 7pET/4pPT.

I was at the show in New Jersey at the Birch Hill Nite Club, and let me just say that it was by far the best show of theirs that I have ever seen. That's saying a lot! I mean, I think this tour is just the greatest thing that they could have done. They are happy and smiling while they play more than ever before. Will was hanging out before they played, he was filming Euphone and getting all into it. Euphone, by the way, was crazy good! I had never heard them before, but my friend told me to expect a good show, and he was right. I mean, the drummer messes with the keyboard while he's playing. They are like rock jazz for the new generation. I have yet to hear a band quite like them. Well, I am sure that a lot of people have seen Sunny Day Real Estate, but I am also sure that no one should be missing this tour. I was apprehensive before the show, I have tons of work for school, and so many people were supposed to be go, but in the end it was all so right. I was front and center taking pictures up Jeremy's nose and jamming out to all the songs that made me love this band in the first place. If you can, GO SEE THEM ON THI TOUR!!

I will post me pictures as soon as I develop them, keep your eyes peeled.

10/6/00 Sorry if you have been having problems with our site. I came to update the page, and it was all messed up and pages were erased and stuff. I am trying to get it all back up and running, but it may be a little while.
Um, if you still haven't done it, go check out the tour dates up on sunnydayrealestate.com. I am going to the show in Old Bridge, NJ on the 16th, so maybe I'll see some of you there!
