Channel cats are a big attraction at Bauer’s Pond, and with good reason: fish in excess of 8 pounds are taken regularly. This makes them really popular with our anglers! We maintain an aggressive stocking program with this species, releasing cats during the spring, summer and early fall. These fish average between 4-5 pounds when stocked, and the rate of growth is excellent.
A Bauer’s cat hits like a freight train and plays smash-mouth when hooked! What’s more, they are great eating! April through October is prime time!
