HELLO EVERYONE!!
Let's remember, we're always clearing the clutter, but especially as the seasons change. This allows better time management since we can more easily find what we're looking for! Now is a great chance to get outdoors (unless the heat is unbearable) and re-evaluate the feng shui in our gardens and landscapes.

The changes over the past six months from Winter to Summer remind us how change is inevitable and renewal is the promise every Spring. As we move now through Summer, we have the opportunity to eliminate all that is ready to be cleared during this season.
The ancient art of Feng Shui can help us create an environment that will foster the joy, vitality and prosperity that is well within our grasp. As we endeavor to create a more functional and sacred space in our homes and offices, remember some of the profound wisdom of the ancient ones.

A. TAKE INVENTORY
Feeling befuddled? What a perfect time to look at what you own. Clear the clutter! Start top to bottom; by making your process more methodical, you will feel more in charge. Get a notepad and jot down all valueables to update insurance policies. Include outdoor items on a clear, temperate day. Once you can review what you own on paper, making subsequent changes will be done with a facilitating overview.
B. ASSESS FUNCTIONALITY
How do each of your rooms work for you? Begin with the activities that are most important to you and their corresponding rooms. Examine the true function of each room. How well do the activities and room functionality correlate? By assessing what you love to do and where you love to do it, you can see if you might want to re-assign certain room's designated functions.
For example, many people hardly use their formal dining rooms and crave a studio space to work on their pet hobby. It's possible you can keep the original function within reach, while maximizing the potential of that room. As always, eliminate clutter -- discard or recycle or donate all things you no longer use, things broken, things you dislike, etc. And organize piles of papers, books, and other items that need an update for systematic retrieval. This elimination process is one we re-visit on a regular basis.
C. DARE TO DREAM & REST
What good is Winter if we can't hibernate a bit to dream and rest. Remember to create a restful spot for your bedroom. Many people don't realize how loud, colorful, cluttered bedrooms zap their energy. Once you have taken inventory and assessed functionality, eliminating that which no longer serves you, you can indulge worry-free in this Winter hiatus to have a mini Vision Quest of your own.
See if you can create a monochrome bedroom in muted tones if you need more rest. Remove all mirrors if possible. I promise you will notice a difference. The quieter the room, the better the rest and dreaming. Better rest alone can move you in the right direction in your life.

Ascertaining which directions and locations are best for you, based on your birthdate, is the first step in the compass school of fs. Once this is done, you can position your bed, desk, stove and front door to attract your highest good. Door positions are especially influential when positioning furniture as well.
Siting ‘power objects’, key possessions and such, as well as identifying your auspicious ‘power spots’ is central in feng shui theory, no matter what school of fs is being practiced. When conditions challenge environmental harmony, ancient ‘cures’ remedy the situation.
Remember, the stove, bed and front door are the three critical directions to ascertain. After that, your desk or working direction. Do you know which four directions are your best compass points? Based on your birthday in the Chinese calendar, you are assigned four auspicious directions: wisdom, success, health and love. These are the directions and locations that will align you with your “kua” group’s chi for optimum results.
It’s easy to remember…Either you’re an East group, often morning types, I’ve noticed or you’re a West group member. The East has four groups, as does the West. Positioning yourself accordingly is your primary objective. At home and work, you can reap the glowing chi of your kua group’s direction.
