Description:
To develop basic word-processing, spreadsheet, electronic presentation and database skills as they apply to the world of work. Students will be introduced to varied computer applications and complete short term projects based on these applications. They will learn and practice keyboarding skills in an effort to enhance their abilities and time necessary to complete projects based on the precision and speed developed on a PC keyboard.

Objectives:
  • To develop keyboarding skills that may be utilized in varied career choices.
  • To explore career opportunities related to computer applications.
  • To develop general skills used in the realm of business, science, and mass media computer applications.
  • To adapt to real world scenarios of adhering to deadlines, communication with peers, finding resources (people, equipment), overcoming obstacles, completing projects, and evaluation.

    Class Projects:

    Attendance Policy/Make-Up Work:
    Any student with three or more tardies will be put in ISSD.Any absents will result in either ISSD or dentention.Students are required to pick up make-up work when absent, only if they have a signed excuse from home. A student with ten or more absents will recieve a notice to the parent or guardian informing them of the violation of Compulsory Attendance Law.

    Cheating:
    If proven, a charge of plagiarism or academic dishonesty could result in an automatic F in this course. Copying from another student's examination or allowing another student to copy from your examinations is also a violation of the academic standards.

    Behavior:
    It is to be referred to the administration for mis-behavior on several occasions in the various classifications with out reaching the level of recommended expulsion. It will be up to the building principals discreation to decide disciplinary action.

    Grading:
    The students grade will be determined by: 70% daily assignments 30% quizzes,tests,and projects
