Mother's Day is a time of commemoration and
celebration for Mom. It is a time of breakfast
in bed, family gatherings, and crayon scribbled
"I Love You"s.

Once each year on Sunday
There comes such a special day,
A day to honor mothers
In a somewhat special way.
We send them gifts and flowers,
And a card that tries to say
How we appreciate our mothers
More than just in May.

But after Mother's Day is gone,
We seldom find the time
To think about our mothers,
Or to call them for a dime.
We act as though to show them love
Would constitute a crime.

When deeds and words don't rhyme.
