Biography:
Roy Bittan was born on July 02, 1949 in Rockaway Beach, NY, USA.
Before joining The E-Street Band, Roy played a few gigs with Meat Loaf. He has also appeared
on Bon Jovi's first album, albums by David Bowie and can be heard on piano on two of Gary U.S. Bonds' albums.
Like Max Weinberg, Roy became a member of The E-Street Band after replying to a Village Voice Ad
placed by Bruce.
Roy replaced David Sancious in the band and has been with Bruce on every tour (besides the Solo Acoustic Tour) since 1974.
After The E-Street Band broke up, Roy (and Patti) were the only two members of the band asked to go on tour with Bruce during the 1992-1993 "Lucky/Touch" Tour.
In 1995 Roy and the rest of The E-Street Band were reunited to record a few new tracks for Bruce's album "Greatest Hits"
In 1999 The E-Street Band went back out on the road for a Reunion Tour and after recording "The Rising" in 2002
another World Tour with Bruce and the band followed.
No plans for the future are known although many people, including I, hope that Bruce will come out with a new album very soon
and take Roy and the rest of the band out on tour again...
