~I
WONDER~
I often wonder
about Heaven
And what it's
really like
Has my child
grown to manhood
Or is he still
a little tyke
I wonder about
how I've changed
As the years
has passed me by
I'm no longer
young
Like I was
when he died
I wonder if
he has grown
And now looks
thirty years old
Or is he still
my little boy
And still
five years old
I wonder if
the dimple
Still stayed
on his chin
And does he
still cock his head
When he gave
his little grin
I wonder if
he's tall
And does he
still look like me
Or has he
changed through the years
Like the leaves
on autumn trees
I wonder if
he watches
Me on earth
each day
And does he
see me cry
When pain
gets in my way
I wonder on
our birthday
Does he get
as sad as I
And knows
I can't celebrate
That day since
he died
I wonder if
on Christmas
When my heart
is an open wound
Does he know
I cry silent tears
Hoping the
day ends soon
I wonder if
he's happy
Since the
day the angels came
I remember
screaming out to them
Please don't
call his name
I wonder so
many things
About my child
who's gone
I wonder how
the years have passed
And I have
lived this long
For I once
couldn't cope
And live without
him by my side
The years
I spent crying were endless
Remembering
the day my little boy died
I wonder about
life
And why some
parents are like me
Grieving with
an inner pain
For the child
we cannot see
I wonder why
our lives
Were chosen
for this road
For we who
know child loss
Our cross
is a heavy load
I wonder and
I wonder
I have for
many years
Why I had
to take this walk
A journey
filled with tears
But most of
all I wonder
What's in
store for me
When God sends
His angels
And reunites
my child with me
