~TODAY I CAN SMILE~

TODAY I CAN SMILE

Today I can smile
When thinking of you
Today I can remember
The things we used to do

Today I can live
Where I once thought I'd die
When pain was all around
When I screamed out WHY

Today time has helped
To somehow go on
It has given me strength
It has made me strong

Today I can promise
A brighter tomorrow
Where sunshine will be
Instead of all sorrow

My love never changes
For my child that died
Yet I see sunshine
When the tears have dried

And though I get heart tugs
I've learned to survive
For I am a parent
Whose child has died
