Financial Goals
and Budgets
The
Organization should decide upon a reasonable income target.
If
a specific amount of money is needed for a special project, the size of
the goal is more easily established.
The
Publicity chairman could create a graph displaying the dollar goal compared
to the actual income. This display can be in a prominent location at the
carnival and updated at regular intervals. Changes in the actual graph
are based on money count reports from the Treasurer.
Discuss The
Budget
Each
Committee chairman must have definite guidelines before beginning
work on projects.
The
total budget is determined by the amounts allocated to individual chairmen.
It may be necessary to make upward or downward adjustments as work progresses.
Financial goals will usually have a significant bearing on the size of
the budget.
The
budget should be part of the agenda at each meeting. Individual chairmen
must give reports on expenditures to date, with estimates of future cash
requirements.
