Nothing and Everything at Once

Song 12

Isaac glanced around the club. He had expected a club full of young children, but the sight of teens and smoke around him made him glad they hadn't brought their younger siblings. The club was actually a teen club, no one under 13 allowed and no one over 19 allowed. The atmosphere was casual. A group of girls, mixed with a few guys, danced to some music. Other groups sat talking, and one group hung in the back smoking.

"Are you sure this is the right place?" Taylor eyed Isaac suspiciously.

"Who cares? This place looks like fun! Do you think they serve alchohol here?"

"Why would you want to drink anyway?"

"'Cuz it was there. It'd be the oppotunity to try something new."

"Zac, everyone here is underaged. They won't be serving that here." Isaac rolled his eyes. Zac always had to be the experimental one.

"Ladies and gentlemen," a man stepped onto the stage. "We are proud to present, for your entertainment. A local band you may have heard of before. Angelcandy!"

There were polite applause and a few cheers. The audience was pretty tame.

"Hey all you New Yorkers! Howz it goin'?" Julia took the stage, possessively holding the microphone and drinking up the spot light shining on her.

"So is everybody ready to rock?" She asked. She was greeted in return by gentle cheers a a few with growing enthusiasm. "Oh come on. That was pathetic. I didn't ask you if you were ready to sit down to some tea and cookies. I asked if you were ready to rock!" The crowd was ready, they screamed approval as Trish stuck a chord.

"Okay! Here we go!"

*She says that she loves you
but does she know the words she says
to say things is just one thing
you need to mean it instead.

She says she can't live without you
well has she ever tried
it seems to me, she don't know
and she can't make up her mind

'cuz all she says,
isn't what she'll do
she may say
but it isn't true

well she can say
all she can say
but it will all breakdown
and does she mean
what she says
when you're turned around

She says that she needs you
does she know what it is to need
she just wants to control you
and you deserve to be freed

She says that you are special
it doesn't seem those words ring true
everyone but you and she
see how she treats you

and all she says
can be cruel
she may say
that doesn't make it true

well she can say
all she can say
but it will all break down
and does she mean
what she will say
when you're turned around

"Hey, that was a good show you guys put on out there." Isaac smiled, extending his hand to Sarene, then Kalli. Julia was getting a drink, preparing for an encore.

"Thank you." Sarene smiled, Kalli simply nodded. After all, she wasn't going to have anything to do with her little sister's favorite band.

"Are you ladies ready to recieve our public once more?" Julia put on a dramatic air. "Oh, hey." She snapped into reality when she say Zac and Isaac quietly mocking her.

"Hey." Zac cleared his throat.

"So we'll meet you after you do one more song. We can go out for ice cream or something."

Trish smiled. "That sounds like fun."

"I thnk I'll skip." Kalli grumbled.

"Kalli! You can't! You're my ride home!" Julia shrieked.

"Take a taxi. It's not my fault you don't have a car."

"A taxi? What if they recognize me? They could rape me, or kill me, or worse..."

"There's something worse than death?" Zac smirked.

"They could destroy my vocal chords and I wouldn't be able to sing anymore."

"Singing's that important to you?" Taylor asked. Was this chick for real?

"Yeah it is." Julia answered. Her face completely serious.

"So Julz ya' comin'?"

"Nah, I'm gonna ride with Kalli."

"Sure?"

"She doesn't want to chance it with those taxi drivers." Sarene laughed.

"Thank you for coming tonight, we're gonna play one more song. I hope you like it."

*It was only one night
it was just for some fun
but I didn't meant to be the one
who'd upset you

It was just something new
sometimes to learn from
but I won't be the one
to hold you back

I won't make you unhappy
I won't be a part of your pain
I won't keep you waiting
I won't ruin this for you
I will sacrifice myself
to make you happy

It was the only time
I'll never do it again
but for you my friend
I won't keep you here

You didn't want to be here
I did it only for me
however selfish that may be
I would leave this for you

I won't make you unhappy
I won't be a part of your pain
I won't keep you waiting
I won't ruin this for you
I will sacrifice myself
to make you happy

and is this fair to me
to do all this for you?
am I being right?
or am I just a fool?

I won't make you unhappy
I won't be a part of your pain
I won't keep you waiting
I won't ruin this for you
I will sacrifice myself
to make you happy

"Thank you! Thank you so much! I'd like to throw out a special thanks to Hanson who came to see us tonight. They're sittin' in the back. Hey guys!"

Teenage girls made a mad dash after the three blonde boys heading quickly out the side door.

"Julia! How could you do that? I told you that would happen. I told you not to do that!"

"Relax. It was just publicity. If people know we know Hanson then we'll be more likely to get signed."

"You are not using my friends for publicity!"

"It's not that big of a deal."

"It was to Taylor." An angry Isaac walked through the door.

"Why?"

"He didn't really appreciate having some girl knock him on the ground and rip his shirt. That was a big deal to him, and we didn't appreciate your little stunt at all." He glared at Julia who, in turn, stared at the ceiling.

"Ike, let's go." Trisha gently placed her hand on his elbow, together they left.
