Jehovah's Witnesses
Topics of Discussion:Overview of Jehovah's Witness DoctrineThe Trinity The Watchtower Bible and Tract Society denies the doctrine of the Trinity and claims it to be authored by the devil (see my page on the Trinity for an explanation of this Biblical doctrine from the Scriptures). They deny the bodily resurrection of Jesus and believe that he was raised a "spirit being" while his body evaporated into gases while yet in the tomb. After the resurrection (if you can then call it that) Jesus simply assumed whatever form He desired. Works Salvation Approximately 8 million hard working Witnesses fulfill their obligation to their organization of a certain amount of hours witnessing from door to door each week as they try to gain God's blessings and favor and attempt to earn a place in His new kingdom here on earth and thereby attain to salvation and eternal life. Why are Jehovah's Witnesses so fearful of Armageddon? How does the Watchtower exploit this fear? What was the real connection between the Watchtower Society and Hitler during the late '30s and into the '40s? Read the actual documents for yourself. Why has the Watchtower Society flip-flopped on so many doctrinal issues throughout the years? According to the Watchtower's own records, the organization has almost a 50% turnover rate in the past twenty five years. Why are so many leaving out the back door as more are coming in the front? Soul Sleep The Watchtower has resurrected the ancient heresy of 'soul sleep'- the doctrine that when one dies, his soul simply sleeps until resurrection day; there is no such place as Hell; they deny the bodily resurrection of Jesus and instead teach that Jesus was originally Michael the archangel who became Jesus here on Earth, died and his body evaporated into gases in the tomb and he rose a "spiritual being" and upon returning to Heaven changed back into Michael again. Daniel 10:13 states that Michael was "one of the chief princes" not "the" chief prince. John 2:19-21 says: Jesus answered and said unto them, "Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up. Then said the Jews, "Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou rear it back up in three days? But he spake of the temple of his body". Cross reference this with Luke 24:37-39: "But they were terrified and affrighted, and supposed that they had seen a spirit." (The same mistake the Watchtower makes today!) "And he said unto them, "Why are ye troubled? and why do thoughts arise in your hearts? Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have." Worship of Christ In Hebrews 1:6 God the Father brings His only Son into the world and turns to the angelic realm and commands them all to worship His Son. Cross reference this verse to Luke 4:8 where Satan is tempting Jesus to worship him. (To the JW... look in your Kingdom Interlinear Translation. You will see the same root word in each instance; it is 'worship'. In the first instance the Watchtower interprets it 'obeisance', and the second as 'worship'. This is dishonest scholarship.) Jesus answers him and says, "Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve." Does this mean, then, that the Father was guilty of forcing the angels into idolatry in Hebrews 1:6? How about verse 8 where it says, "But unto the Son he" (the Father - ed.) "saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever:..." Does that mean the Father is now also guilty of blasphemy? Communion The Witnesses have communion only once a year; on Easter Sunday. The interesting thing is that they believe and teach that Jesus returned in 1914. Since the Bible tells us we are to eat and drink of the body and blood of Jesus in memory of him until He comes again, why do they still engage in the communion memorial if he returned in 1914? The 144,000 Since the concepts of: denying the worship of Jesus, refusing to enlist in the military or in government office, refusing the receiving of blood transfusions, and denying the doctrine of the Trinity (see my link on the trinity below), etc., were all put in place after 1935 and these ideas are now considered pagan and false, and: since the Watchtower claims that only those who became members of the Watchtower Organization before 1935 are the 144,000 who are now in Heaven with Almighty God, why would God want to have people who believed pagan ideas living in Heaven with Him? Since the Witnesses claim that God is constantly purifying their organization, wouldn't He want to wait until the organization is completely purified and take only the 144,000 most pure at that time to Heaven with Him? Learn about these and other points so you can confront the Witnesses in love. The sites listed below will educate you about this organization and how to witness effectively to the Witnesses. To the Jehovah's Witness:What is this everlasting life that the believer is already in possession of according to Jesus and what is this life that the believer has now passed into? How can this be reconciled in light of the Watchtower's teachings? When you come to my door, you want me to examine what I believe.
