I am the only man that has ever been able to keep a whole church together since the days of Adam. A large majority of the whole have stood by me. Neither Paul, John, Peter, nor Jesus ever did it. I boast that no man ever did such a work as I. The followers of Jesus ran away from Him; but the Latter-day Saints never ran away from me yet. ...When they can get rid of me, the devil will also go." The Book of Mormon (BOM) is subtitled, "Another Testament of Jesus Christ". It should be called, "A Testament of ANOTHER Jesus Christ" for the Jesus of the BOM is NOT the same as the Jesus of the Bible (and this was admitted in Paris, France on June 4, 1998 by Gordon Hinkley, the so-called "president, prophet, revelator and seer" of the LDS church).
Joseph Smith was a false prophet, a philanderer, and was convicted in court of occult practices such as 'gold digging', a method of looking for buried or hidden treasure by looking into a 'peepstone' or rock and claiming he could see like a fortune teller with a crystal ball where the treasure was located. His own mother commented on his ability as a child to tell the most incredible stories of ancient civilizations on this continent entirely from his imagination to entertain his family.
This is truly a religion of works-oriented salvation. There are approximately 12,000,000 Mormons today who are taught to believe that there are untold millions of gods that exist (among which there happens to be only one to whom they direct their worship) and that they themselves will become gods and goddesses one day and have their own planets to populate with their spirit children provided that they follow all of the LDS church's laws. An interesting point is that Smith taught that there is the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, three individuals and therefore three gods. If there is only one God "with whom we have to do" and there are three here mentioned, which one is the God they worship? And, if they don't have anything to do with the other two, then why are they even mentioned?
