Reparations
When I started writing Reparations, I had no idea what I was getting myself into. I simply had this idea for how I believed Biogenesis should end and started putting it down on paper. But then my characters began to take on lives of their own. They didn't mirror the way they had been drawn by Chris Carter, rather they became more of how I saw them. My Skinner is very much the strong, take-charge kind of guy we see on the show, but he is much more willing to stand up for what he believes in, for whom he believes in. And my Scully is a little more....human: not so totally in control, and somewhat overwhelmed by all the trials she is being made to endure, needing someone to trust, someone to lean on.
Consequently, there are probably two camps for readers of this piece. Those of you who don't believe that anyone can be in control 24/7 like Scully will probably love it. Those of you who think fanfic should strictly adhere to the characterizations as laid down by 1013 Productions will probably hate it.
Anyway, I hope you give it a try and let me know what you think, one way or the other. Although if you hate it, please be gentle; I cry really easily.....
