According to a few eco-sources, these cleaners can be created from simple staples. Here [below] are some examples of what they've cooked up. |

Ingredients: 1 tsp olive oil Juice of 1 lemon 1 tsp whiskey or brandy 1 tsp water |
Directions: Mix together. Rub on furniture with cloth, then buff with chamois for a deep shine. |

Ingredients: 2 cups cornmeal 1 cup borax |
Directions: Mix cornmeal and borax. Sprinkle mixture on carpet. Leave on for one hour. Vacuum thoroughly.. |

Ingredients: 1/4 cup baking soda 1/2 cup vinegar |
Directions: Pour baking soda into drain. Follow with vinegar. Close drain tightly until fizzing stops. Flush with pot of boiling water. |

Ingredients: 2 Tbsp flour 2 Tbsp salt 1 Tbsp water |
Directions: Mix together into a thick paste, adding water as needed. Rub onto brass object with soft cloth. Rinse and rub again to burnish. |

Ingredients: 1 Tbsp dishwashing detergent 1 cup vegetable oil |
Directions: Mix solution and store in air-tight jar. When ready to use, add 1 to 2-1/2 tsp solution to 1 cup water. Spray on plants, covering all leaf and stem surfaces. |
