#1.
GET READY!
Even if you never purchase the book that this idea originated from, which is
"Simple Abundance, A Daybook of Comfort and Joy,"
by Sarah Ban Breathnach,
I make you the same promise that I first heard Oprah make, in January, 1996,
which is: If you keep a daily "Journal of Gratitude," it will change your life.
IT WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE!
It is such an easy, simple thing to do for yourself.
All you have to do is write down five things every day for which you are grateful.
That's it! But it MUST be every single day,
and it MUST be at least five things.

#2.
GET SET!
It matters NOT what kind of pen-n-paper you use to keep the journal with,
just so you keep one. I use college-rule notebook paper in a 3-ring binder.
Oprah uses a nice leather-bound notebook with blank paper, and she gives
ones like it to friends and show-guests and I don't know who all.
A number of people use the one specially designed for the purpose
by Ms. Breathnach (she dedicated it to Oprah), which can be purchased
wherever books are sold, entitled, "The Simple Abundance Journal of Gratitude."
Homemade or store-bought ones, whatever, just have yourself one.
Some use their good ol' reliable favorite pen, some obtain an extra fancy pen
just for these journal entries. All of that does NOT matter, just so
you daily keep up your Gratitude Journal!
And this is a good idea for everybody, men, women, and children.

#3.
GO! ...GO! ...GO!
At the end of every single day, before you go to sleep, get out your journal
and list at least five (5) things for which you were grateful that day.
Be as brief OR as wordy as you want to be, just so you write them down.
It could be something as simple as the fact that the weather was nice, or that
some nice stranger smiled at you, or that your coffee tasted good that morning.
Could be something materialistic, like your getting a raise on your paycheck, or
that you bought a new outfit, or that somebody gave you a present.
It doesn't matter how "big" or how "small" the incident is, just so you remember it
and write it down. It's great if you list more than five things.
Some days you won't be able to write fast enough because of so many nice
things happening that day. Other days, you will be very hard-pressed to
think of at least five things, but . . . . .you will, you ALWAYS will.
Within a few days time, you will notice a big difference in yourself.
I'm not going to even try to explain what that difference is.
I just promise that it will happen.
I promise that your life will change for the better.
MAKE THIS A MANDATORY PART OF YOUR DAY!
You will never regret it!
