LAW AMENDMENTS - 2001

The Council, at its recent Annual Meeting approved the attached amendments to the Laws of the Game to be effective from June 1st 2001.

In addition to the agreed Law amendments, a number of Rulings in Law given by the Designated Members and confirmed as Law by Council at its November 2000 Interim Meeting have also been included.

Add a definition for Pre-gripping
"Pre-gripping - gripping a team-mate in the line-out prior to the ball being thrown in."
Add:

"Near" - within one metre - delete all references to close proximity and replace by near".
"Referee - Law 6 - Match Officials"
"Temporarily suspended - Law 10 - Foul Play"
