Supernova, a science-fiction thriller:
(From Mr. Showbiz) Lou Diamond Phillips has joined the cast of the sci-fi pic Supernova,
which begins lensing this week, says Variety. The actor, last seen
onscreen in Courage Under Fire and on Broadway with a shiny pate
in The King & I, will play twenty-second-century medical technician
who works onboard a hospital ship. Responding to a distress call from a
salvage craft, the medical crew rescues a lone survivor, who soon
mutates into a deadly creature. Supernova also stars James Spader,
Vincent D'Onofrio, Angela Bassett, Robert Forster, Robin Tunney, and
Wilson Cruz, with Walter Hill directing.
