January 2014
January is a month in which you do not have
much that needs to get done outside. If the
weather will let you, you can get some pruning
done and spray your fruit trees with a dormant
oil if you haven't already done this. You
want to get the spray on before the tree
starts budding out. This is a great time
of the year to do any transplanting that
you may have wanted to do in the middle of
the summer. Bareroot trees should start showing up in the Nurseries
this month, so stop by your local Nursery and check what they have. You save money
by buying bareroot plus the selection of
trees is a lot better now then in the summer.
