December--2008
The month of December is a great month to
kick back and enjoy the Holidays. The weather has been wet, which is a good thing. If you are going to do a live Christmas tree indoors, now is the time to dig your hole outside, for when you move your tree from inside your house.
This is a great time to get caught up on
any pruning that you may have not done yet.
This is a great time to prune fruit trees
and also to spray them with a dormant oil.
Hold off on pruning your roses until February. Also try to avoid pruning
your spring flowering shrubs--Quince, spirea,
Forsythia,
etc. Wait until they have finished blooming,
then prune them. You still have time to divide
your perennials. Remember to keep your poinsettia away from cold drafts. Have a great Holiday--Chuck
