If you would like to use your insurance for therapy, bring in your insurance card to your initial appointment and your your insurance company will be contacted to determine your benefits. Often, we can take most insurance, even if we’re out of your preferred network. Your insurance will be billed once a month. Fees, copayment, and coinsurance are due each session unless other arrangements are made. Our standard billing rate is $185 per hour. We make adjustments to this fee for private pay clients on a case to case basis. Please feel open and free to to discuss any of the above with us.
Initially, we will spend some time getting to know one another, as well as discussing your perceptions of your difficulties and any relevant interactional patterns. Through this process, you will most likely gain some degree of insight into your situation and what it means to yourself and others. Over the first 2-3 sessions we will also collaborate on possible approaches to therapy.
Honest and open communication is of the utmost importance for successful therapy. Every attempt will be made to provide a safe and trusting environment for all involved to be able to openly speak their mind. Please feel free to correct and therapist reflections that doesn’t sound accurate. Just like any other professional, we try out ideas to see how they fit. Additionally, you are in control of the direction of therapy. You’re invited to tell us if you would like to try different therapeutic approaches. There is more than one way to approach any given situation.
Therapy will likely require some degree of effort from each person involved, and temporary feelings of discomfort inherent in change are not uncommon. Additionally, at times there are circumstances when it is difficult to gauge improvement in therapy. Therefore, we will regularly evaluate how the therapeutic process is meeting your needs and objectives by exploring progress as compared to when you began therapy. It is important to for you to know that while positive changes usually do occur, they cannot be guaranteed in therapy. Each session will follow a similar format.
Treatment will conclude when the identified objectives have been sufficiently achieved. This will be determined through mutual agreement among the participants, including your therapist.
