A chairde!
Bilingual pages
As Irish is not my first language, and because these pages are mainly
designed
for people learning Irish, most of the information appears in
English... at first!
Gradually, as time allows, I'll be adding English translations for the Irish
text
and Irish translations for the English text making these pages bilingual
(having
two languages on the same page) rather than having you click between
English
and Irish pages (which is preferred by most fluent speakers of Irish).
New pages
Some of the new pages I'll eventually be adding include:
- Irish language lessons based on the beginners' classes in Sydney: Cúig
nóiméad sa lá
- Craic agus cluichí: Irish-language
games (card games, board games, puzzles, and so on) to download
- A guide to Irish spelling and pronunciation for beginners and advanced
speakers (complete with terrifically tantalizing tongue-twisters!)
- Grammar notes and exercises for the lessons in Tómás Ó Domhnalláin's Buntús
Cainte
- Grammar notes and answers for the lessons in Máiréad Ní Ghráda's Progress
in Irish
- Leabharlann Albert Dryer: A detailed
database of the reserve collection in the Albert Dryer Memorial Library
located at the INA cultural centre (the home of Alma and an t-Athair Mícheál's
intermediate Irish language class).
- Basár na Gaeilge: A virtual
marketplace to raise money (for the language classes and charity) for goods associated with the Irish language and culture,
second-hand books, tapes, videos and CDs, souvenirs from events, charity
auctions, and the like.
Is mise le meas,
Nollaig
