STRENGTHENING ORGANIC FARMING INITIATIVE A campaign, popularly called SOFI or "Strengthening Organic Farming Initiative", is jointly sponsored by number of participating organisations. The convenor of the campaign, Dr Jag Rawat, described that "this initiative primarily would work to locate those regions of the world where organic farming has not still given way due to lack of resources of the peasants to purchase chemicals, pesticides and fertilisers. Success in the primary aim would lead to provision of competitive prices for the produce of such peasants from commercial organisations which are or are likely to join our initiative". If you want to contribute to help the organic farmers, please do sign our memorandum which will be sent to the Food and Agriculture Organisation, World Trade Organisation, Govt of UK, British Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Corporation (BBSRC), ICELAND, BODY SHOP, TESCO, SAINSBURY, ASDA, SAFEWAY We welcome other voluntary organisations to become part of our initiative and work for creation of an 'International Centre of Organic Farming Research'
