He was a chief coordinator and sponsor for the placement and dedication of the Lutz Memorial Monument in Jacob's Union Church Cemetery, dedicated Oct. 12, 1991. He was active in the Berks County Historical Society and the Palatinates To America Society, Columbus, Ohio, from which he was expected to recieve an award for his work in research and genealogy. He was captain of the Garden City, N.J. Fire Company, 1943-51, and a founder of the Sergeantsville, N.J. Fire Compamy. He was a 1930 graduate of Temple Univ, Philadelphia, Pa. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Allentown, Pa.
The Lehigh County Coroner's office attributed his death to a gunshot wound to the head and ruled it a suicide.
