Tonight I have been awakened. Much to the surprise of those that found me. I am not the well preserved mummy they took me for. I felt their approach before they even knew of my presence within the cave. It must have been the sound of the music that was playing through the device I now know to be a walkman, or maybe it was her thoughts as she came closer. It was through her thoughts that I discovered that they have come in search of me many times before, and if not for their native guide they would have terminated this attempt at finding me. Yet again through her thoughts, I discovered that they have been paid to do so by my Childe of the Blood. SinJi. She has been sending different groups of people to where I slept, in hopes that I would awaken and return to her. I smiled as I realized that I had been aware of all those that came before. Then realizing that I found none of them of interest. That is till this night. This group of people. This woman directly. Her name is Danielle Marie Andrews, a woman of great beauty.
It was with great ease that I gleamed the lifes blood away from those with her, seven lives in total. Much to my surprise Dani, wasn't frightened by my slaughtering of those in her party. She told me she had witnessed actions like this before. She told me how she longed to become a childe of the blood as was the one that sent her to find me.
Even as she continued to tell me of how she came to meet SinJi, how they became friends and of how SinJi, entrusted her with the secret of my resting place. I looked over the kin that I have just slain and by the devices that they carried, I could tell that this period held many marvelous wonders. I took to dressing myself in the attire of this age. When complete I again turned my attention back to Dani. For countless hours I sat and listened to her as she spoke to me of the world as it is now. I marveled at just how far the world has come. As I looked at this Dani, I saw in her a determined woman, an educated woman, a woman of means. One that I would readily make a Childe of the Blood. Yet that would have to wait for I needed her as she was now.
After having gleamed from Dani, all the pertinent information that I needed about this age of technology and finding her a valued source of information, I gave her a few droplets of my blood thus beginning her servitude to me. For the next few days Dani, educated me in the manner of all things familiar to this new age. Microwaves, Airplanes, Automobiles, ATM's and so much more. I found everything she spoke to me of a simply marvelous. Even as I found myself flying on the American Airs, redeye flight from London's Hethrow Airport to New York's LaGuardia Airport with Danielle, Dani as she would have me call her.. I found myself marveling at all the accomplishments that I've missed, yet would get to witness along with my Childe of the Blood SinJi and my new found ward Dani. Now the only thing I ponder is just when or even if I should I make Dani a Childe of the Blood.
