PGSM - Act Twenty-Two
Dark Mercury, or Darkury as I shall call her when I feel like it, faces down the senshi. She takes an icicle off a statue and it transforms into a sword for her.
Sailor Moon pleads with her to remember them. Darkury says that she remembers them alright - and now she's going to defeate all of them and become even stronger.
She blasts at them, but Jupiter holds out her hand and blocks it, burning a hole in her glove in process.
Sailor Moon pulls out her wand and tries to use her power to return Darkury to normal, but she blasts it away.
Kunzite proudly says that Sailor Mercury has been given power from the Great Evil. We flash back to her before Metallica, being blasted by the dark motes of power.
He says that she cannot be changed back.
They all dramatically look at each other, and Mercury holds out her sword, only to be stopped by Kunzite, who teleports her away. He's not ready for them to fight yet.
Artemis turns up to see all of this... well actually he turns up to see the other three senshi sitting on the ground.
Beryl is standing before the purple light that is Metallica when Kunzite enters with Darkury. Beryl is rather confused as to why Kunzite has done this.
He says that since Zoisite is gone, he was lonely with a fourth member missing from the shitennou so he converted Darkury.
Beryl is doubtful, but Darkury says that she will prove her worth by defeating the other senshi.
In addition to being turned evil, it seems that the blast of dark power gave Ami more confidence. She firmly tells Kunzite that she will not work for anyone and she stalks out.
Kunzite gives a rather ironic bow and leaves. In the shadows, a suspicious Jadiete watches.
Back at Crown, Usagi, Rei and Makoto stare at the four pairs of mittens that Ami knit for them.
All of them blame themselves for what happened. They all went their separate ways and weren't around when she was attacked.
Now, in honor of Ami's memory, they're going to get back together, because she believed they would.
Makoto sits alone in her room, remembering Ami. Makoto realizes that she took Ami for granted as she remembers leaving her.
Rei has similar feelings. Now she wonders why she ever thought that acting alone was a good idea.
Usagi knows that she's been so upset about Mamoru that she ignored Ami. Suddenly, Mamoru doesn't seem so important.
At Mamoru's apartment, Hina is prattling on about the dinner she made, but Mamoru has barely touched it.
She asks him a very serious question. Does he still want to study abroad and then marry her?
His silence answers her.
But then he adds that he won't break the promise he made to her father to do all those things. He decides that it might be better if he doesn't go after his path, and then he finally starts eating.
He doesn't want to go after his past because he doesn't want to run into Usagi again.
Back in her room, Usagi puts her scarf away in a drawer and then regards her pink mittens. She has more important things to worry about.
The next morning, Usagi gets to school to see a very strange sight. Ami is sitting at her desk surrounded by all of the people in her class.
She rushes over excitedly, but Naru scolds her for being so informal with “Mizuno-san.”
Ami turns to Usagi and tells her that she didn't want to miss school, so she brainwashed all of her classmates. She also adds that she doesn't want to fight right now. After all, even evil senshi need to attend school.
Jadiete tracks down Kunzite and asks him about the princess. Kunzite doesn't know if Venus is the real princess or not, but he's not too worried about that now. He wants to see how they deal with Darkury.
Then he adds that if Jadiete wants to continue to help Nephrite look for the Mystical Silver Crystal and catch the princess, he will lend him the power.
At school, all of the students in Ami's class pull their desks over to her for lunch, leaving Usagi alone.
In a role reversal, Usagi heads out to the roof, taking Ami's usual place.
Luna comes over and says that she never thought Ami would still go to school - as that's not something normal villains do.
Usagi doesn't think she can fight against Ami. She'd rather quit being Sailor Moon first.
Artemis comes in and says they have no choice but to fight against Ami. Bigger things are at stake than just their friendship... like... the whole planet.
Usagi just quietly watches the two stuffed cats talk.
The three of them go to Crown and just sit there. All three of them agree that they cannot fight against Ami - no matter what Princess Venus says.
A youma dressed as a jester appears at the amusement park, and Luna's spider-sense picks it up.
The three girls spring into action and hurry to the park, where a whole assortment of people are collapsed on the ground.
The three of them Make Up, but only Usagi calls out her phrase. (They do it in split screen. It's good that the transformations are the same length)
Sailor Mars and Sailor Jupiter run off one way and Sailor Moon heads off another. This is to make the next confrontation more dramatic.
As she runs along, Sailor Moon here's someone call her name. Ami is riding the merry-go-round. While on the horse, she Makes Up.
The fight with the youma leads them to a random aquarium where there are beluga whales in the background.
As they run past the tank, both Mars and Jupiter turn to look at the whale for a moment.
They chase each other around a tank of jellyfish before the youma heads out the exit... into a strange dark empty room specifically prepared for youma fighting. Or something.
The youma sneaks around behind the senshi in a menacing fashion for awhile before they back into each other.
The lights come on and they see Sailor Moon go flying on to a stage. Darkury calmly walks out brandishing her sword.
The youma starts to drain Mars and Jupiter's energy, distracting Moon from Darkury.
She raises her sword to strike, but she hits Venus's chain instead. Darkury is honored to fight the princess. Venus tells her to back down, or she'll have to fight her.
The two cartwheel past each other, when Venus collapses.
Darkury is not impressed. Besides, she would rather fight against Moon.
Moon rises to her feet and de-transforms back to Usagi. Darkury didn't expect that one.
Usagi says she cannot fight against Ami. She apologizes for leaving Ami alone and not coming to rescue her, and she thanks her for the mittens. She asks Ami to come home.
For a moment it seems that Ami is working her way through, but then Darkury slashes at her, cutting the mittens in half.
Usagi stares at the ruined mittens. It seems that Ami really is gone. A single tear rolls down her cheek and lands in the center of her locket, which starts to glow.
The light seems to hurt Darkury, and it makes the youma flee.
Usagi transforms back to Sailor Moon. This is a very powerful transformation, as it vaporizes the youma instantly.
An image of Ami is superimposed over Darkury. She quietly says Usagi's name.
But before she can be healed, Kunzite rushes in and teleports Darkury away.
Sailor Moon falls to her knees. She felt very strange indeed. Venus tells her that she is starting to wake her full power.
With that, Venus leaves one very stunned Sailor Moon.
It's hard to say what she's more in shock about - her power, or Ami.
Then she discovers that her power put the mittens back together.
Sailor Moon starts to cry, hugging the mittens to her heart.
Ami is still in there - and working together, they'll bring her back so all four of them can be together again.
Beryl is flooded once again by Metallica's power. The pillar we saw in Act 16 once again beings to glow with a white light. In one of the slots, a stone starts to glow.
Hina and Mamoru exit an elevator in his apartment building, talking about amusement parks when they hear piano music.
Mamoru tells her to wait and he cautiously follows the sound.
In his bedroom, there is the ghostly figure of Zoisite, playing the piano. Mamoru remembers when he saw Zoisite last, in Act Twelve.
Zoisite rises to his feet and greets him as "Master Endymion"
