From the cradle to the grave is but a short journey. What is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away." (James 4:14.) "My days are swifter than a weaver's shuttle." (Job 7:6.).How much is already passed away. In the 50 or 60 years assigned to us on the face of this earth, how many years have you spent in vain? Do you belong to that category who eat, drink, enjoy, excrete, sleep and wake up again to do the same? What is your contribution to the fellow beings? How far do you reach out to the weaklings and the less priviliged brethren? Do you stretch out your hands to the living Lord for Thanks and Help?
Before I was shaken to the naked truth of life, I firmly believed in the Eye for an Eye Policy (no sleeping without retorting in the same coin), was an expert at mocking others, very safely stayed away when the situation demanded my help, lost temper at the slightest provocation and made a fool out of myself (trying to control it now!), never ‘wasted’ time in chiding my fellow beings when I found them err, found pride in my material possessions, would grab any opportunity to brag and felt Prayer is a ritual to be accomplished if I find time after watching all my favourite programmes on TV, after chatting with my friends on phone/net, if my mood is fine or if any favour is to be sought from God
Friends, I don’t mean that I am a saint today with a halo over my head; I too am a human being with all my weakness. However, I realised that a person can get rid of all the pettiness and destructive habits with the guidance of the Holy Spirit and contribute in little ways to make the earth a better place to live in. As a first step, divorce yourself from all sinful nature and repent.

It is a blessing to be a creature, who finds each day to be a gift from the Creator, live a life worthy to be called the child of God and walk in HIS path. The path of righteousness is too narrow and today’s world is dominated by carnal ambition, pride, avarice, self-pleasing and sensuous desires. Its opinions are false, its aims selfish, its pleasures sinful, its influence thoroughly demoralizing, its politics corrupt.
But faith in Lord Jesus Christ and belief in the Word of God would definitely make changes in life. Let Lord Jesus Christ be your refuge at times of want, do not resort to smoking, drinking or other evil habits – it will not save you. Make the Lord your castle and stronghold – u shall not fear any other forces. The Lord Jesus Christ Himself says in Luke 5:31-32, "Those who are well do not need a physician, but those who are sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance”. See the beauty of the free offer of mercy in Jesus Christ! We do not need God to step out of heaven and tell us that we, by name, are warranted to come; we have the unfettered offer of mercy in the words of His own Son, "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28).
O friends, consider these things more seriously than you have ever done before. Awake while there is yet time and "set your affections on things above, and not on things on the earth" (Col. 3:2).
Psalm 15:1-5
LORD, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?
He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart.
He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour.
In whose eyes a vile person is contemned; but he honoureth them that fear the LORD. He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not.
He that putteth not out his money to usury, nor taketh reward against the innocent. He that doeth these things shall never be moved.
