One of the many encounters had with amazing heroes that have survived a lot... this is actually a picture from the first soup kitchen. The meatloaf was burnt and the fire alarm went off, which rings right to the firestation... my first encounter with NYC firefighters.

There is hope...
This is in Advent Lutheran Church. They created a "wall of hope" with the many letters and cards they received. One specific one that touched my heart is on the right. Amazing words of encouragement came from people of all ages, and from all over the country.
