About Us

WELCOME TO YOUNG ISRAEL OF NEW HAVEN

…We are your new family….

We are a member of The National Council of Young Israel

Our members enthusiastically participate in a wide range of religious, educational, cultural and social activities.

Young Israel has had a significant and historical part in New Haven for over 75 years. From being a place for davening and learning to being a key community event leader, YI has established itself as a prominent pillar in New Haven.

We are actively growing our membership through designing and developing innovative programs to supplement our traditional daily and Shabbat/Chaggim services and learning.

For those who have never been here before, are here for the first time, or have not been here for a while, let us tell you what is new or what we have to offer..

Why New Haven?

Why Not?

We have it all:
Schools
High Schools
Shuls
Yeshivot
Kollel (20 miles away in Waterbury)
Bakeries
Butcher
Restaurants
Mikvahs
Large JCC
Vibrant Hillel at Yale University
Jewish neighborhoods
Affordably priced homes
Lots of jobs
And most important, a strong devotion to Ahavat Israel. You will be amazed by the Kiruv and Chesed shown by members of Young Israel and members of the other Orthodox shuls.
Anyone will be hard pressed to find a community that interacts so well. Community events are run based not on turf related issues, but rather what will enhance the entire community. We encourage you to sample our version of Ahavat Israel, you will be bowled over.
