M91 Mosin Nagant 7.62x54R This M91 Remington was one that, due to the Russian Revolution, was never sent to Czarist Russia, but remained stateside. As was common with some of these rifles, it was made into a non-firing 'Cadet' rifle. When I received this rifle, the recever was cut in half, the barrel had no sights and the overall length (barrel and stock) were converted to approximate the 1903 Springfield rifle. The firing pin was ground off and the magazine guts were missing. I had a Gunsmith remove and replace the receiver with another M91 receiver. He also drilled and tapped the receiver for the ATI scope mount, and custom forged a bolt handle. I replaced the magazine guts and firing pin. I added an older Weaver scope and rings to complete the set.
