I know. You came to see the U-Fix-Em rifles I've been yacking about. They are here, but first, you have to meet the latest member of the household. This is Pokey (short for Pokemon). He is a Welsh Pembroke Corgi. I don't know much about him except, 1: the wife wanted him badly, 2: He's not cheap. In fact, we had to buy him on a payment plan. When I make the last payment, we get the rest of his legs. I also think the word "Corgi" is welsh. It means "genetic freak". My wife tells me he is a cattle herding dog, and that the Queen of England has some of these. ("What, the queen has cattle?" "Don't make me smack you, Paul.".) All I know is that he is sweet, dumb, a bit timid, and is riotously funny when he tries to herd up the neighbors small children. ("Muuuummmmeeeeee!!!! Pokey Won't Let Me LEEEEEEEEAVVVVVVEEEE!!!!") This is Pokey sitting. This is Pokey standing. The Guns! Polish M44's 3 Polish M44 UFixEms. $19.87 each. Top is the roughest stock, broken handguard, grafitti under bolt handle, rough wood on other side. Middle is nicest, smooth wood, clean. Bottom has compression dent on bottom of butt (barely visible here) had broken trigger spring (replaced) and has cleaning rod. All shoot very well (2" at 50 yards or better) Below: The metal of all the M44 is nice, most bluing intact, no pitting or rust. Some were *very* dusty. Note bottom one has a swept back bolt handle. Odd, huh? Grafitti. Anyone tell me what it says? Cracked Handguard. Rough wood on #1. M91/30: 4 of the 5 M91/30 had rough wartime receiver as shown below. 1942-43. Most had little to no bluing. The is the only whole M91-30 so far. I had to pull an action screw and buttplate screw from another M91/30. I also need to scavenge front sight to complete this one. The others are really incomplete. I *may* be able to put together another one complete. M91 Rifles: The top M91 has a Finn 1 piece stock I had acquired elsewhere on a 1899 Finn. The barrelled action is from a UFixEm and is the nicest of the 4 I received. The second one is completely a UFixEm, in very nice condition. Shoots well. It has a "K" stamped into the grip behind the top rear action tang. The bottom is the 1899 M91 I already had, now sporting the rope-hole stock and pre-1910 type 1 front and rear barrel bands. Other than the faint "SA" markings on the receiver, it looks like a vintage pre-1910 M91.
The early 'rope hole' stock. What does this "K" mean? The next 3 are all receiver views of the UFixEms |
