February 21, 2001 - Short hair

God, it's weird having short hair again. It just hits my jaw line now. It was down past my shoulders. It's not like it's the first time I cut my hair off. I do it all the time. It just feels strange. It is easy to style and it doesn't get the back of my shirts wet when I get dressed in a hurry. It's also a lot easier to just wash. Ah, I'm becoming low-maintenance again. Maybe that means I'll be more desirable to men.

Hrmph... I know better than that. As Dorothy Parker so wisely pointed out, "Men rarely make passes/At girls who wear glasses."

I'm listening to The Tea Party. I love them so much. For the longest time it was just too hard because of stupid David. Who hasn't called. But he doesn't know I'm home. I bet he's left more messages on my phone. Whatever. I'll check. Sure, it's long distances but I need to know if anyone called. Which no one did. Oh well. No loss there. I just love the lyrics to their songs and the crazy great mix of East and West. Like in the Bazaar.

silence swimming in a pool of dreams
beneath its depths the forgotten streams
above, the city of the evening star
behind its walls, the grand bazaar

I can see myself in Turkey. How cool would that be?

Chris sent me photos he scanned. There's one of me with a spoon on my nose that I really like. It's pretty cool. Definitely a yearbook submission. I'll just have to make sure they get a copy. If they get lots of photos of me they'll have to put some in, right?
