Sometimes spells work well for otheres or dont.
Simple protection spell
Say this out loud:
Shield of the Goddess,
On my arm,
Psychic arrows,
Cannot harm.
Protection spell
objects:
orange candle
1 carnation
Basil
how to perform:
Place the carnation in water and the basil in front of the candle. Breathe deeply and clear your mind. Begin to concentrate on the powers of protection and say in a powerful voice:
I call in the guardians and the power of the masculine and feminine. I surround myself with the fire of protection. The earth's grace supports me. The winds bring my gentle shifts and the flow of water eases the enrgy of this time. I may connect to the pulse of life. I ask that this be done within the greater good. So be it, and so it is.
Cat protection spell
Call your cat into the circle and draw a pentagram in oil on their forehead, then recite:
Moon Goddess
, I ask That you keep (name) at home
And safe from his msichief
And desire to roam
Give him the contentment
Known to his race
And see that they're happy
In this their new place.
Dog protection spell
Call your dog into the circle and draw a pentagram in oil on his forehead, then recite:
Hecate, Dark Mother
In protecting this home
In your place as is right
Stands one of your own
In defending this house
And all creatures within
Your sacred beast
Is your true loyal friend.
Keep him from harm
As he guards all he loves
And watch over him
So below, as above.
Opening a circle
It is preferrable to mark a permanent circle in a permanent place either on the floor, on a piece of carpet that you can roll up and put away or best yet - outdoors in a quiet secluded place. Most, if not all, of these options are rarely available; especially if you live in a city or have house-mates. So remember that although those options are the ideal, visualizing your circle around you is just as effective.
To cast the circle, first make sure that you have all of the tools you will need for your spell inside the circle you'll be creating. Because once you cast the circle, do not break the circle. As a strict rule, never break the circle during a spell. Not only would your magickal energies "leak out" of the circle (and misdirected magickal energy can be very dangerous), but you will be very vulnerable to outside negative energies in your "mid-spell"-state. One word :
DON'T!!!
Your altar should be set up with you facing the altar in the direction associated with your ritual (money spells facing the north, love spells to the west...etc....)
Now light a white candle (white is a color of protection) and meditate/concentrate on what you want to accomplish with your spell. When you've "gotten into the right frame of mind," Picture your circle forming from the point directly in front of you (on the other side of your altar) deosil (clockwise) all the way around you, completing back in the west. You can visualize this as a white light forming a ring around you or even as a flame - as if it were a ring of gasoline lit with a match at the point of the circle directly in front of you. Once the circle is completed, visualize the light extending slowly upward from the circle to form a translucent "dome" or "bubble" of light around and above you - completely enclosing you inside. Now work your spell.
Closing a circle
When the spell is completed and you've had a moment or two to collect your thoughts and recuperate you'll need to close or "disperse" the circle.
First thing to do is extinguish any candles that you've used during your spell.Do not blow the candles out. This is believed to "blow" the magick away from what you just tried to accomplish, weakening the spell. Snuff them out or pinch them out, but do not extinguish the large white candle yet. After you extinguish all of the other candles, you'll need to absorb any excess magickal energies that are inside your "bubble" that failed to be focussed into your spell's purpose (ideally, there shouldn't be any excess, but this may take awhile to perfect). This will also help you to revitalize a little, because if you performed the spell correctly, you'll be feeling pretty exausted (but good) right about now. Just visualize it. Once you've absorbed it all back in, simply visualize your "bubble" slowly collapsing (starting at the point directly above your head) back into your circle on the floor. Then visualize the circle collapsing widdershins (counter-clockwise) into the point from where it was formed. Now extinguish the large white candle (remember not to blow it out). The circle is now dispersed and okay to leave.
Charming a pendant
Fill a clear glass goblet about halfway up with water. Stir in a little salt and put it in direct sun for approximately 15 minutes. Let the water absorb the rays. Along side the goblet, place a charm or talisman on a chain or cord and allow it to receive the sun as well. (Note: You may use a piece of jewelry such as a gemstone pendant or a stone you've found or any other natural object for the charm.)
After 15 minutes have passed, take the glass and talisman out of the sun and dip the talisman into the water. Using the chain or the string attached to the talisman, gently swirl it clockwise while you say the following three times.
Apollo's light surround me.
Poseidon's water protect me.
Athena's wisdom guide me.
