From: SEGA Power, Issue 43
SEGA power was an unofficial SEGA magazine that covered every SEGA console
going. The magazine started in the late 80's I think and was fairly popular
since it was ideal for a SEGA fanboy and was a fairly good magazine in it's own
right. As time went on it started to cover the Saturn and that's where it all
ended for the magazine since the Saturn flopped everywhere apart from Japan. A
couple of years after the launch of the SEGA Saturn in the UK the magazine
stopped.
Anyway this is a preview for Final Fight CD, but the title is just plain old
Final Fight. Either that was the original name of the game or SEGA Power just
didn't bother to add CD. To be honest there isn't anything that amazing about
this preview but there sure are loads of mistakes:
1. The caption for the bottom screenshot claims that this version will have
loads more special moves than the SNES one, it doesn't.
2. Part of the preview says that there are more and longer levels than the SNES
version. No, the levels are the same length and there is only 1 extra level over
the arcade. I suppose they could be talking about the time attack mode but it is
unlikely.
3. The top caption claims that Haggar is a police commissioner, but he is
actually mayor of Metro City.
Man, this game must have been released quick, or SEGA Power was really late to
preview it. This was in the June issue and it says that the game is due for
release in May! By the way, the "biggest video game ever"
mentioned in the opening line is referring to Street Fighter 2, which was also previewed
in this issue.
